PricewaterhouseCoopers and Exact Software join forcesDelft, 25-09-2001 |
Exact Software (揈xact? and PricewaterhouseCoopers today announced their collaboration in bringing innovative web-based services on the market. The long-standing relationship between Exact and PricewaterhouseCoopers has now resulted in a formal agreement concerning the use of Exact's back and front office solutions, Globe 2000 and e-Synergy respectively. The contract, which covers implementation of the payroll software for PricewaterhouseCoopers customers, runs until 1 January 2004.
The collaboration is part of a PricewaterhouseCoopers initiative to optimize its services via internet. The collaboration with Exact concerns its services to the Dutch market, where initially a system for web-based salary administration will be implemented. The payroll solution will allow PricewaterhouseCoopers customers to enter payroll information into a central database via their customer portal on the internet. PricewaterhouseCoopers can then process this information in its Globe 2000 accounting software and make salary payments. The customers' employees will then be able to access their own salary statements directly via the e-Synergy software. This integrated solution eliminates the need for fax, e-mail and telephone traffic concerning payroll issues, and eliminates the need to send salary statements by post, thus optimizing both PricewaterhouseCoopers's and their customers' efficiency.
"This is the first phase in our plan to serve customers more quickly and efficiently via internet," says Rob Hoevens, member of the Board of Directors of PricewaterhouseCoopers, and responsible for e-business and technology. "Our total e-business ambitions go much further. Various innovative applications for web-based tax returns and e-accounting, for example, are in an advanced stage and will be introduced in the near future. All these applications are aimed at improving efficiency, speed and reliability of data processing and reporting."
The choice for Exact Software was obvious in view of its strong position in the middle market segment, which is an important target group for PricewaterhouseCoopers. Because Exact's solutions are entirely web-based, all aspects of PricewaterhouseCoopers's business can now be connected: computers, documents, customers, products, employees, and more. This will allow a fundamental extension of its current business applications, with all the advantages of the internet. Information will be available anytime, anywhere, and will always be reliable and up-to-date. Furthermore, with Exact's off-the-shelf products, PricewaterhouseCoopers will not require any costly custom solutions.
According to Lucas Brentjens, Vice President of Exact Software, "Exact's software solutions and PricewaterhouseCoopers' knowledge as a professional service provider form a strong combination. Increasingly, businesses are seeking to outsource data processing with added value. This is something we can offer customers." The partnership agreement will also contribute to the further development and improvement of Exact's standard software solutions.
